As late as 2017 I asked a friend "what is the point in running". A year later I decided to try C25K on my own via an app all because my 10 year old son was regularly beating me in a race up the street.  Doing C25K was the best decision I ever made.

After finishing it I started doing parkrun  with my good friend and now regular training partner, Sandra Deane.

Joining a 5k to 10k group via AthleticsNI was the second best decision I made. I completed my first 10k at the Les Jones in 2019 and since have enjoyed over 60 parkruns and too many 5km and 10km races to count.  I love the camaraderie in running, love being able to motivate others to help them achieve their goals

My favourite 5km race has been Magheralin 5k. It was the first medal I ever got for running and I look forward to going back to do it the next time it is on.  My favourite 10km  is Les Jones, I loved every minute of it except "that" hill.

I am a member of Wednesday Night Runners and will be taking the Couch 2 5k group along with Sandra. I look forward to seeing the new group progressing each week towards their individual goals.
