I have always been a sporty person, but have only been running for the last 2 years and only ever started to prove to myself that I could run 5k.  I had been running for almost 6 months and to progress so I joined a small group of runners who were progressing towards 10k runs.  We achieved our goal and ran the Les Jones 10k and since then I haven’t looked back.

I qualified as a LIRF coach earlier this year, I now take a group of between 10 and 12 runners on, all progressing to 10k runs, and all in their 30s, 40s and 50s, we have both male and female runners.  There is nothing I love more than seeing others achieve their goals.

I have completed over 60 parkruns and have helped a few of my friends and my partner start and complete their Couch to 5k journey, 2 of them have even made it to 10k with me!  I have completed the Virtual Belfast Marathon this year and previously have done the longest leg of the Relay event.

My favourite races are the Les Jones 10k, because it was the first 10k I completed and the Run Anon Lough View Run.

My group is called Wednesday Night Runners, we meet at Mary Peters Track or The Dub Pitches depending on what type of sessions we are doing. We alternate what we do each week, sometimes hills, tempo or interval runs so you get a taste of them all. We all love to meet up for parkrun or even an easy run at weekends.
